Typhoon: It is recorded in the history that typhoon has ever landed from Jinshan and Nanhui, both flanks of Fengxin, but subsided to the 2nd-3rd level when arriving at Fengxian, without any disaster so far.

It's recorded that the highest water level in one hundred years is 4.19 meters above "Zero" Wusong for Huangpu River, which is below 4.5 meters, the average elevation of the Seaport Development Zone.
- Earthquake:
The Zone has the extremely uncommon geological stratifications of Shanghai, with its lithosphere 180 meters below the zero line while the average of Shanghai is about -240 meters. The designed building earthquake resistance intensity of the Area is "6" degree on the Richter scale, one degree lower than that of its peripheral area
- Land smooth
The Land is natural and smooth, reaching at 4.0 meters high than Wusong absolute standard.
